ActivPrint uses black (negatively charged) and white (positively charged) pigment microcapsules. When an electric current runs through it – which different colour microcapsules are brought to the surface, can be controlled by positive or negative current.
This has the effect of ‘turning on’ and revealing the image – or with black, turning the image off and hiding it.
This low power process allows ActivPrint to have a standard lifetime of upto 1 year with standard AA batteries.
